The management of Oyo State Owned, The Polytechnic Ibadan has broken silence over the purported security threat, saying that there is no security threat whatsoever in the institution.
The management in a four paragraph statement issued and signed by the Registrar and Secretary to Council, Mrs Modupe Fawale directed that normal social activities should resume in with existing procedures.
It was ealier reported that the management has banned all public activities, including conferences, seminars and workshops in the institution and its environment until further notice aside from the ongoing second semester examinations.
Fawale explaiend that the directive is coming after the management engaged all organs of the institution and resolved conflicting dates of events, seminars and examination to the satisfaction of all.
The statement reads in part “The Authority of The Polytechnic, Ibadan has directed the resumption of normal social activities in line with existing laid down procedures.
“The Management issued the directive after engaging all organs of the institution and resolved conflicting dates of events, seminars and examination to the satisfaction of all.
“With this, all planned activities within the Institution are to continue with strict adherence to the best practices that will promote continued peace on campus.
“The Polytechnic Authority also encouraged all officers and students to join hands with the Management in ensuring the sustenance of peace being enjoyed in the Institution.”
