JUST IN: UI VCship: Council Cancels Process, To Start Afresh

The process for the appointment of a vice- chancellor for the University of Ibadan, UI, has been suspended.

Adulawonews gathered that the newly constituted
governing council, led by Chief John Oyegun, after its meeting resolved that “the UI VC race which started since May 2020 should be cancelled.

“It also resolved that apart from the cancellation, the stained process should be re-advertised for the VC position.”

However, on Sunday morning a statement by the
institution’s Registrar, Mrs. Olubunmi Falayi, went to journalists by the directorate of public communication, confirmed the development.

SUBTANTIVE VICE-CHANCELLOR

This is to inform the University community and
the general public that, at its meeting on Friday,
02 July, 2021 the Governing Council considered,
among other things, the appointmen of a
substantive Vice-Chancellor for the University.
Council decided to cancel the previous exercise
and start the entire process afresh.
Consequently, Council directed that the position
of the Vice-Chancellor be re-advertised
immediately.
The Directorate of Public Communication has
been directed to do the needful in this regard.
