Oyetola Declares Friday As Public Holiday To Celebrate Isese Day

The Governor of the State of Osun Mr Adegboyega Oyetola has declared Friday August 20 as a public holiday in commemoration of this year “Isese Day” festival.

This was contained in a release issued and signed by the state Commissioner for Home Affairs ,Alhaji Tajudeen Olaniyi Lawal and obtained by Adulawonews on Wednesday in behalf of the state government, stating that this year’s “ISESE DAY” will however, not be marked with the usual funfare.

Alhaji Lawal said, the decision to that effect is anchored on the realisation of the increasing rate of the third wave of ravaging COVID-19 pandemic in the country.

The Commissoner in behalf of the state governor congratulated the traditional religion worshippers throughout the state just as he also appealed to them to be peaceful and law abiding in their conducts before, during and after the festival.

He equally advised them to pray for the growth and development of State and the Governor,Mr Adegboyega Oyetola.

While further advising them to continue to support the present administration, Lawal did emphasise the need for the citizens of the state to continue to embrace Omoluabi ethos .

On the part of the “Isese Day” participants, he urged them to observe the COVID-19 Protocols especially the use of nose mask, social/physical distancing among other rules of engagement before,during and after this year’s ISESE DAY.
