The State of Osun House Assembly has passed State of Osun Audits Amendment Bill into law.
The bill was passed into law at the Plenary after the third reading at the State House of Assembly Osogbo on Wednesday.
The State of Osun Audits Amendments bill was passed into law with the motion moved by the East Senatorial Whip Hon. Babatunde Komolafe and seconded by Hon. Israel Oyekunle representing Ejigbo State Constituency respectively.
In his remarks, the Speaker of the Parliament Rt. Hon. Timothy Owoeye thanks his colleagues for passing the bill earnest for the benefit of the state.
He said that the bill would allow transparence and prudence in producing auditor general in the state.
He also noted that the bill would allow the position of auditor general to open to all applicants.
The house during the bill’s policy thrust by the majority leader of the house Hon. Maroof Olanrewaju enumerated the benefits of the bill to the public.
He brings to the memory of the house that the bill has once passed into law in 2019.
He noted the bill would eliminate wasteful resources of the state.
In their various contributions, the lawmakers noted that the bill would give room for employment and allow appropriation process to follow in the state.
They said that the bill made provision for second tenure for auditor general in office.
Earlier, the state house of assembly has confirmed nominee Mrs Jimoh Mistura Iyabo as member of caretaker from Ward 10A Ejigbo South Local Council Development Area with the motion moved by Hon. Adebayo Uzamot representing Iwo state constituency and seconded by Hon. Festus Komolafe representing Atakumosa East/West respectively.
