16 Die As Vehicle Collide On Bauchi Road

 

At least sixteen people have lost their live in a road crash on Sunday when an articulated truck and a Toyota Hummer bus collided.

Yusuf Abdullahi, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) confirming the incident on Monday in Bauchi, revealed that the fatal crash, which involved an articulated truck and a Toyota Hummer bus, occurred in Bambal village on Kano-Jama’are Road at 7:00 p.m.

The sector commander, who said it took FRSC officers about seven minutes to arrive at the scene to clear the site, attributed the accident to speeding.

“Sixteen people are involved in the crash comprising 10 males and six females, and all the people on board lost their lives to the crash,” Mr Abdullahi explained. “The Hummer bus burst into flames after it ran into the truck and no single soul survived the crash. Some people were burnt beyond recognition inside the Hummer bus.”

He further mentioned that the remains of the crash victims were deposited in the morgue of Kiyawa General Hospital on Kano-Jama’are-road for identification.

The FRSC sector commander advised motorists always to be conscious of traffic rules and regulations while driving.
