The Deputy Chief Whip, State of Osun House of Assembly, Hon. Abidemi Gbenga Ogunkanmi, on Thursday bagged an award of excellence.
The award, courtesy by the Osun State Polytechnic Iree Senior Staff Association in recognition of the lawmaker’s outstanding service to humanity and resolve to effective and quality representation of his people.
According to the association, the lawmaker was also honoured due to his antecedents in public service as well as giant strides in providing quality leadership especially in the mentoring the Youths for greater involvement in the Political future of the country.
The association commended the lawmaker for contributing his quota to the development of his Alma-Mata over the years urging him to do more.
Corroborating him, the Rector, Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, Dr. Woye Olaniran eulogised the lawmaker for being a worthy role model for the upcoming generation.
Dr. Olaniran said the institution will continue to honour its Alumni and other well meaning individuals who are contributing their quota to the development of the Polytechnic and the society at large.
Responding, the honouree, the lawmaker representing Ayedire State Constituency in the State Parliament, Hon. Gbenga Ogunkanmi who was awarded alongside the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Adebayo Adeleke, expressed his gratitude to the association for the honour.
He pledged his readiness to do more in the quest to achieving Youth Emancipation and the collective development of the state as well as the Polytechnic.
