Two Die As Fuel Tanker Explodes On Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

Two persons have died as a fuel tanker exploded on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway

This was revealed by the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) on Wednesday.

The Ogun command of the FRSC said the tanker with no registration number exploded some few kilometres after the Sagamu interchange.

Sector commander Ahmed Umar said the crash occurred at about 6:05 a.m. near CDK Company.

Mr Umar explained that eight male adults, three vehicles, and a Bajaj motorcycle, were involved in the crash.

While two persons died, six were unhurt.

“The corpses of the dead have been deposited at Idera Morgue, Sagamu,” he added, blaming the crash on speeding by one of the truck drivers.

He added that the fire had been put off by firefighters and traffic diverted.
