The factional Secretary of the Osun State chapter of All Progressives Congress, APC, Adelani Baderinwa has insisted that former Osun State House of Assembly Speaker, Dr Najeem Salam loyalty is firm with The Osun Progressives, TOP,
Baderinwa, who is a former commissioner for Information and Strategy on his verified Facebook page on Sunday after the visitation to resident of the ex-Osun Speaker said Salam remains his usual self; calm, gentle, respectful, humane, humble and ever articulate.
He noted that the Ejigbo born politician words while addressing delegate of TOP were representative of his mindset.
He also dismissed the rumor that Salam is at loggerheads with Minister of Interior Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola for supporting Adeoti as TOP candidate.
ADULAWONEWS gathered that TOP delegate went to Ejigbo in order to persuade the former Osun Assembly Speaker not to abandone the cacuse after Alhaji Moshood Adeoti was adopted instead of him.
“I was at Rt. Hon. Najim Salam’s country home meeting as established in one of the pictures. He remained his usual self; calm, gentle, respectful, humane, humble and ever articulate. Salam’s words were representative of his mindset.
“He is not Jesus but I have not heard words of anger from him in the last 20 years or so. We worked together in the days past when we formed
“Omituntun Group” as part of efforts to revamp the ailing Osun AD which was rigged out of government. Salam’s mien was not different at today’s meeting. Even when he expressed reservations on some issues, he was as audible as he has always been. No word of anger but clear expression of his feelings.
“He has kind words for Rauf Aregbesola and the leadership of TOP even when he noted that there could have been a better end to how things went within the Caucus.
“For Aregbesola in particular, he noted that nothing should make him betray his trust like some others had done. He emphasized that not the craving for highest available position in the land would make him to betray Aregbesola. He noted that he is in control of his greed unlike some other people who cannot.
“He emphasized the need to speak the truth always stating that the missing link, that is causing deterioration of values and degeneration in our society is lack of truth.
“The party’s leadership in Ejigbo LG were in attendance and had bared their minds on the way things went on the matter of governorship ticket within the TOP Caucus.
“They expectedly expressed dissatisfaction and anger about it. Like matured leader that he is, Salam did more of appealing to them and urged them to work harder and showed that disappointment has nothing to do with determination to refuse been called a fool by those that are not half as wise as you are. Salam stressed the need for the local government leaders to show that they are in charge of election and winning it in Ejigbo LG.
“The meeting ended on exchange of banter, hugging and back-slaping.
“Oluomo Najim Folasayo Salam, displayed his Omoluabi ethos by shaking hands with all delegates at the point of entering the bus for our departure from his modest country home.
“The two terms former Speaker of the State of Osun House of Assembly, who started his political career as a Councillor was such a jolly good fellow.”
