The Former Students Union Government President of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, Comrade Bolaji Olaniyi Hope has cried out continual refusal of the school authorities to release his result.
Hope, who was the SUG president during the 2018/2019 academic session was suspended after aggrieved students vandalized the institution’s medical department where equipment worth millions of naira were destroyed.
The ex-Osun poly SUG president was as a result of this destruction of the school’s medical department suspended for a year which elapsed in 2021.
ADULAWONEWS gathered that in 2019, a student of the institution Hammed Sheu slumped in examination hall, rushed to the medical center of the school but the clinic failed to attend to him, he was eventually rushed to the nearest hospital outside campus, but later died that same day .
This informed the student’s aggression and some set of students mobilized themselves for a destructive protest inside the main campus for the next day.
Hope in a bid to forestall further eventualities and ensure the students are not misguided, hijacked the protest, called for another protest outside the School gate instead of the campus premises, while he was addressing the students in front of the school gate, some other group of students mobilized themselves through the various porous entrance to vandalize the school’s clinic.
This led to the eventual suspension of the President by the school authority for two semesters which was in 2020.
The suspension, however, has since elapsed and he was supposed to have received his result early 2021, but the school management remains adamant in releasing his result.
Hope had visited the campus on many occasions according to him, plying Lagos to Osun, to resolve the issue in school but it was the same narrative all the time as he was told to have had discrepancy in names.
The aggrieved ex-SUG president expressed displeasure over this development saying he submitted all required documents to the school during the admission process but the school claimed his document have been detached from the original copies, hence the non-availability of the documents during the review of the dossier which culminated to the discrepancy.
Hope explained that a conspiracy theory was perceived with the continual refusal to release his result till date.
ADULAWONEWS learnt that after the vandalization of the school medical department over eight thousand (8,000) students all paid ten thousand naira (10,000) each as damage fee
