A video of the minister of foreign affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama hurriedly walking away when asked to comment on the Ukraine and Russia crisis has surfaced online.
Since the beginning of the invasion of Ukraine by Russia, the Nigerian government has refused to take a definite side as it seems the government has opted to remain neutral in the ongoing crisis.
During a recent chat with newsmen, Onyeama was asked for the Nigerian government’s position on the crisis but he just smiled and walked away.
Meanwhile, recent updates on the crisis have it that two loud explosions rocked the centre of Ukraine’s capital Kyiv in the early hours of Friday morning.
This was made known by Ukrainian interior ministry advisor Anton Herashchenko on Telegram.
“Attacks on Kyiv with cruise and ballistic missiles have just resumed. I heard two powerful explosions,” Herashchenko said.
This is happening barely 24-hours after United States President, Joe Biden, hit Russia with more severe sanctions over its military action in Ukraine. Read more
