No fewer than Hundreds of Nigerian students were reportedly troop out to the streets on Monday in Kano to protest the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) strike which is still ongoing.

The students, who began their demonstrations in Kofar Nassarawa Kano and marched to the Emir’s palace, denounced the strike as anti-education.

They bemoaned the fact that many of their colleagues had become drug addicts, with some even turning criminals.

The Emir of Kano, who greeted the kids, said that it was sad that they were kept idle.

He said he has spoken to both the Federal Government and the ASUU and advised them to resolve the matter amicably.

“I will send an emissary right away to get first hand information on what is happening now and I will do whatever it’s takes to make them see sense in resolving the matter”, the Emir assured.
