Group Drums Support For Tinubu, Says Atiku’s Consultation ‘Shameful’

The Coalition for a Better Nigeria on Wednesday drummed up support for the presidential bid of the All Progressives Congress (APC) national leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

This was contained in a statement issued and signed by the National Coordinator of the group, Comrade Awa Bamiji.

He said APC has zoned its presidential tickets to the Southern part of the country, urging the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to follow suit.

According to him, “The Presidency has been officially zoned to Southern Nigeria by the ruling All Progressives’ Congress (APC), in line with popular advocacy, most especially by the respected Northern Elders and Politicians, Southern Governors’ Forum, as well as various civil society groups under this umbrella body.

“It is our belief that the People Democratic party (PDP) will follow suit regardless of the ongoing, unpopular and shameful consultation of former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, which is targeted at crashing the ship of the People Democratic Party (PDP) in no distant time,”

The group also warned the Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello not to go against the position of the APC on the 2023 presidency, saying: “2023 Presidency is the turn of Southern Nigeria and it is non – negotiable.”

None of the presidential aspirants- both APC and PDP- has ever empowered numerous people politically like Tinubu, he added.

“Who among those names that are being touted as likely presidential aspirants of both the APC and PDP has really empowered people by making numerous names in government, the federal and states’ executive councils, as well the national and states’ assemblies? None, apart from Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the visionary, human resources’ developer and the rave of the moment. We don’t need to deceive ourselves any longer,” the group said.

Meanwhile, the Coalition has announced that the annual Obafemi Awolowo Foundation lecture, themed, ‘ Value for Africa’s Development’ will hold on March 6, 2022.

The lecture, according to the statement, will be delivered by Professor Adedapo Asaju, while former President of Ghana, John Mahama, will be the chairman of th occasion. Former Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon (Rtd) (GCFR) is the special guest of honour.

The group also urged Nigerians to watch out for an interesting musical package by Agbarijo Egbe Odo Yoruba (Grand Council of Yoruba Youths), which would be posted on social media in honor of Tinubu, to mark his 70th birthday on March 29, 2022.

It also prayed that the reign of the new Olubadan , Dr. Lekan Balogun, will be peaceful and attract tremendous progress to Ibadan land as he is crowned on March 11, 2022.
