A frontline businessman and rights activist, Hon. Olufemi Johnson has won the ticket of the African Action Congress ticket to contest the July 16 governorship election, in Osun State.
In an election held at the N.U.J Press Centre, Osogbo, Hon. Johnson polled 32 votes to defeat Engr. Adegoke Oluwole Kehinde who polled 25 votes while two void votes were recorded.
The primaries conducted at the instance of the party’s National Officers including Engr. Francis Abayomi, the National Treasurer, Mr. Jawosinmi Oluwasegun, the National Youth Leader and the representatives of the Independent National Electoral Commission saw delegates from all the thirty local governments voting without any iota of violence.
One of the delegates Mr. Alabi Seun, described the primary as an evidence that democracy thrived within the African Action congress.
He appreciated the National Officers of the party for showcasing high sense of fairness and equity among all contestants.
Speaking shorty after he was declared the AAC candidate in the July 16 governorship election, Hon. Olufemi Johnson appreciated the leadership and members of the political party for their love which led to his emergence.
According to him, he remains a candidate to beat in the election, as the people of Osun State are yearning for a young and vibrant politician who will change the game for the better in the state.

Calling on the people of Osun to support him to emerge victorious at the polls, the AAC flagbearer noted that with him as the state helmsman, Osun and its people will witness the desired development.
It would be recalled that Hon.Olufemi Eniolapo Johnson contested the Osun governorship seat in 2018 and scored an encouraging number of votes.
