They could have been doctors because they actually have medical degrees. But they dropped the stethoscopes for entertainment. Though they didn’t study entertainment-related courses, they have continued to draw applauses as entertainers.
Here are six Nigerian entertainers with medical degrees:
· Kate Henshaw
Henshaw studied Medical Microbiology at the School of Medical Lab Science LUTH (Lagos University Teaching Hospital) in Lagos. Henshaw worked for some time at the Bauchi State General Hospital.
· Peruzzi
Afropop artiste Peruzzi (Tobechukwu Victor Okoh), popularly known for his hit song Amaka featuring 2baba, studied Medical Surgery at Odessa State Medical University in Ukraine.
· Dr Sid
Dr Sid studied Dental Surgery at the prestigious University of Ibadan (UI) before pursuing his dream of working in the entertainment industry.
· Beautiful Nubia
Beautiful Nubia
Music composer and band leader Beautiful Nubia graduated from the University of Ibadan with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1992 and practised as a veterinary doctor for about eight years.
· Kiki Omeili
Nkiruka ‘Kiki’ Omeili is best known for her role as Lovette in the TV series Lekki Wives. She obtained her medical degree from the University of Lagos where she studied medicine and surgery.
Jemima Osunde
She graduated from the University of Lagos College of Medicine with a degree in physiotherapy.
