Osinbajo Congratulates Baptists On 109th Convention

Nigerian Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo has congratulated members of the Nigerian Baptist Convention on their 109th Annual Session.

Osinbajo thanked the body for extending invitation to him. He extended warm felicitations of the President, Muhammadu Buhari who Congratulated the Nigerian Baptist Convention on her annual session.

The Vice President said that it was a great thing to thank God (Heb. 13:15). He said that coming together of the saints is a time of spirit , super natural blessings, breakthrough, and the birth of new things.

He said “The Lord shall make a new thing suddenly. There are many reasons for the conviction. The Lord makes it clear that where two or three people are gathered, He is there with them. Let us therefore be very expected at this gathering for expectations of the righteous shall not be cut short.

“It’s a gathering of the believers unlike any other regathering. People at the convention were not led by the flesh but the spirit. The foundation is the word of God. He expects us to give thanks at all times whether good or bad. God has no limit, no boundary and no quota. This is why I believe that the future of our nation is very bright despite the challenges (Gen. 4:1-4).

“If we want peace in the land, we the saints of God must declare it now. We must realise that even at creation, there was confusion. There was hopelessness and confusion but in all these, God was right there. The spirit of God was overing the water. The spirit of God will soon take over the affairs of Nigeria.

“This is why we cannot speak unbelieve, hopelessness and helplessness. Jesus demonstrated it with Lazarus. He says that he would restore all the years that the locust has eaten.

“God shall roll away the stone of fear, unbelieve, and economic hardship. The glory of the latter shall be greater than the former. You in this Convention, you are coming to the time of elevation.” he said.

Osinbajo was represented by Pastor Seyi Malomo who apologised on his behalf for his absence.

Malomo concluded that the Vice President “will be here to celebrate the 110 years in a glorious position.” He received a gift from the Convention on behalf of the Vice President.

Earlier, the All Africa Baptist Fellowship, AABF, General Secretary, Rev Elias Apetogbo from Togo delivered the message of the Baptists in Africa praying that the Convention shall continue to move forward.
