World Institute for Peace and Organization saddled with the responsibility of promoting the culture of peace, enhancing humanitarian services, and preserving peoples’ rights across the world organizes a peace summit on which was targeted at ensuring that the Osun State Gubernatorial Election which will hold on the 16th of July 2022 is peaceful Before, During and After the election.
At the event, in attendance were security agencies, political parties, students, Non Governmental organizations and Governorship candidates in the forthcoming election.
Keynote speakers; Address the causes of Violence in Election, its implication on our democracy, and the universal remedy
In a panel discussion at the event, Comrade Olowu Emmanuel who is the Running Mate of the People’s Redemption Party (PRP) said that the only alternative to Violence on Election Day is the pro-activeness of the Security Agencies and the expression of true independence of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to give a plain ground for all political parties.
He, therefore, advised that for a peaceful election the Security Agent should immediately commence the arrest and prosecution of all cases related to political violence in the state, over the last six months, without considering the connection of such suspects to politicians.
He encourages all civil society organizations and Non-Governmental organizations to be more determined to report the correct data before, during, and after the election, he advised that Legal practitioners should see the Nigeria project as their project and not help miscreants, desperate politicians, Vote Buyers, and Sellers hide under the areas of Technicalities in Law
Conclusively he assured the electorate that the three basic needs of Life will be sure under the leadership of Engr. Busuyi Ayowole of the People’s Redemption Party (PRP)
