Sunday Igboho Speaks On Coming To Nigeria

The Oodua Nation Activist, Chief Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho has informed that he will return to Nigeria soon.

Igboho revealed this during in an interview at his residence in Benin Republic.

“I am going back to Nigeria soon,” he said.

He dismissed the notion that he might be arrested by the Department of State Services (DSS), which had earlier declared him wanted, if he ever steps foot on Nigerian soil.

He referred to the September 2021 judgement delivered by Justice Ladiran Akintola of an Oyo State High Court which declared the action of the DSS illegal, “arbitrary aggression and prejudices,” and awarded N20 billion damages in his favour.

“I believe in the judiciary,” Igboho added.

Reminiscing on the bloody midnight raid on his house, Igboho said the DSS and other security operatives that stormed his Ibadan residence had the intention to kill him, but “God doesn’t leave his own.”

Asked how he made it out alive during the DSS raid, the Yoruba nation agitator declined further comments.

“It is not yet time to speak. I will speak when it is time to speak,” Igboho said.

He lamented his personal loss including the brand-new vehicles in his compound that were vandalised by bullets fired by security operatives who invaded his residence on July 1, 2021.

According to him, a Mercedes Benz worth N55 million, three Hilux vehicles worth N17 million each, G-Wagon of N48 million, among others were destroyed by the security operatives who invaded his residence and killed two aides.

On how he was arrested in Benin Republic, Igboho said: “My wife (Ropo) was detained at the (Cadjèhoun) Airport for about two hours.

They were ready to hold onto her if I didn’t show up. Then I showed up and the security agents handcuffed my hands and legs. If I knew that could happen, I wouldn’t allow her to follow me to the airport. She had already obtained my travelling document from the German government and I would have asked her to go separately but God knew how everything went that way.”
