How Gunmen Kill Lawmaker, Shoot Son In Adamawa

Gunmen on Saturday morning reportedly killed Ishaya Bakano, a lawmaker in Song Local Government Council of Adamawa.

It was gathered that the gunmen invaded the residence of the lawmaker in his hometown, Bannga, shoot his son and whisked him away before killing him few hours after he was abducted.

Mr Suleiman Nguroje, the state PPRO confirmed the incident.

He noted that security agencies are all out to apprehend the perpetrators, adding that the Police are investigating the killing.

The lawmaker until his death is the deputy leader of Song Local Government Council.

He represented Gudu Mboi Ward in the Council.

There are speculations that the incident might be a case of assassination.

The son of the lawmaker who was shot during the attack is receiving treatment at a hospital.

Gunmen in the past few weeks have attacked several residents and killed some.

Bakano’s murder is coming after gunmen killed a lecturer at the Adamawa state polytechnic in his residence in Girei Local Government of Adamawa State.

Unknown gunmen on the 6th of July invaded the residence of Reverend Daniel Umaru of Church of The Brethren, Njairi in Mubi LGA shooting the pastor, killing two of his sons, and abducting his 13-year-old daughter.
