Court Remands Secondary School Teacher Who defiled Minor In Ibadan

 

The Iyaganku Family Court sitting in Ibadan on Monday ordered that a man identified as Oyebode Alayoteti, be remanded at the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Iyaganku, Ibadan, for allegedly defiling a student.

The chief magistrate, Patricia Adetuyibi, who did not take the plea of the 49-year-old teacher for want in jurisdiction, ordered that he be remanded for two weeks for further investigation.

Ms Adetuyibi adjourned the matter Until August 4 for mention.

Prosecution counsel, Inspector Folake Ewe, told the court that Mr Alayoteti, a teacher at the Federal Government Girls College, Oyo Town, defiled a 14-year-old student.

Ms Ewe said the teacher allegedly committed the offence between November 2021 and May 2022.

“The suspect started molesting the girl since she was in Junior Secondary School (class three) when she was 12 years old,” she said.
