The Osun Progressives (TOP), a caucus within Osun APC has described the alarm raised by the media consultant to Prince Famodun, Mr Kola Olabisi to cause co-ordinated crises across Osun inorder to attract sympathy and please his paymaster a false.
This was contained in statement made available to Adulawonews.
In reacting to the release, the group challenge him to come to the public to defend a man whose era as the state chairman of APC has brought setback and near total collapse of the party in the state.
“It is a known fact all over the state that there’s unquenchable anger in the house of Osun APC among members of the party, this is evident in series of Whatsapp audios released by different individuals in ileri- oluwa group of APC shortly after the election result was announced, so many of which were damning and damaging to the persons of both Governor Oyetola and Prince Famodun. This political attention- seeker, Kola Olabisi lost his voice then” the statement reads
The group claimed that Posts from Social media have evidently shown the public that what caused the loss of Osun APC to the PDP in the last gubernatorial election was due to pure mis management, lack of direction, laziness, selfishness, greed and inefficiency of Prince Famodun and political misfortune of Gov. Oyetola.
Famodun massively lost his local government, his federal constituency and his entire senatorial district where himself as the chairman.
The Governor who himself and campaign director general, Sen. Ajibola Basiru lost to the PDP.
How would Famodun blame TOP for misfortune he brought on Oyetola and the party when there was total breakdown of trust between him and Gov. Oyetola prior to the election?
TOP alleged Famodun of operating and coordinating the affairs of the party from him bedroom and also make away with #300 million election fund without his exco members knowing.
Also alleged that he replaced names of people who didn’t win the party primaries with those that won in the name of being Rauf Aregbesola boys.
Famodun’s road to doom for the party in the last election became so glaring that Gov. Oyetola had to push him and his exco members aside and started dealing with his newly constituted election think- tank headed by the “erunrun akara” proponent and the almighty UNIT LEADER, Ajibola Basiru SRJ.
In the statement the group said, If serious party members now decided to go on peaceful protest to press home for certain demands that will help the party back to it’s good old days, why would such amount to plan to disrupt public peace?
One thing is certain here, Gov. Oyetola took over the mantle of leadership of our party in Osun as a ruling party and he is now leaving it behind as an opposition party, God will surely judge him and others who are co- travellers on this journey back to square one for Osun APC.
