A supporter of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola in All Progressivs Congress (APC) in Osun, Comrade Ajayi Awesu Akande also known as Power Point with over one hundred members have defected to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Ajayi Awesu who is the former State Deputy Coordinator for Team Support Gboyega Oyetola (TSG), from Ward 01, Ibokun in Obokun Local Government area of the state, while speaking via phone conversation with our correspondent on Saturday, stated that he is defecting with hundreds of his supporters to PDP.
He condemned the leadership of APC for exclusive administration in the state.
According to him, the APC party Chairman Prince Adegboyega Famodun’s attitude on party issues led to total collapse of the APC’s winning structures and the eventual loss of the July 16 gubernatorial election in the state.
“Famodun has dislodge genuine progressives in the party with paperweight politicians who could not win their units, wards and local government”, he stated.
He added that, “Famodun is in the process of ‘finishing’ the Osun APC because of their fresh plan to suspend leaders of TOP and others who have different views to theirs.
” So I don’t feel comfortable to remain in APC and feel like opposition within a party I used all my time to work for.”
The former APC publicity secretary added that he concluded his own assignment in APC and moved to the PDP.
