The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has reportedly arrested a teenage student for attempting to kidnap the provost of the College of Fisheries, New Bussa.
Nasir Abdullahi, the Corps PRO revealed in a statement on Wednesday.
The NSCDC said the student conspired with another person, now at large, to write a letter threatening to kidnap the provost if he failed to pay a ransom.
Mr Nasir, however, said the suspect did not demand any particular amount before NSCDC operatives arrested him.
The spokesman added that the student had been arraigned before a chief magistrates court on a two-count charge of criminal conspiracy and intimidation.
