The National Working Committee (NWC) the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is currently holding a meeting with gubernatorial candidates of the party across the 36 states of the federation at its national secretariat in Abuja.
It was gathered that the meeting is being attended by all PDP governorship candidates except Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, who is on vacation outside the country.
Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, who has not arrived when the meeting started sent his apologies, adding that he would join as the session continues.
The closed-door meeting was described as an interactive session between the party’s national leadership and candidates ahead of the 2023 elections.
The meeting comes amid calls for the PDP National Chairman, Dr Iyorchia Ayu, to step aside by Nyesom Wike’s camp, as part of the conditions for the resolution of the crisis bedeviling the party.
