Following the ruling of the National Industrial Court of Nigeria, directing ASUU to suspend it’s ongoing strike forthwith while negotiations continue with the government, the leadership of National Associaion of Nigeria Students (NANS) has given directive on the immediate suspension of the NANS planned mass action across the country.
This is revealed in a statement issued on Wednesday by the National Secretary of the association comrade Usman Baba Kankia
The statement reads partly;
“We expect ASUU to abide by this ruling, show respect to the Court and return to classes immediately even as we will continue to agitate for the full implementation of the ASUU/FG agreement”
The statement also appeal to the striking lecturers to see the court order as a progressive way forward to achieve a positive results at a negotiations table as it is a win for all.
“We hope and believe ASUU will accept the court ruling in good faith as it affects the future of our dear country, the statement added
