Court Remands Three Suspects For Drugging, Raping Teenage Girl In Ilorin

 

The Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Ilorin, Kwara State has ordered the remand of three suspects identified as Boluwatife Oluyemi aged 23, Samuel David aged 23 and Kudus Waheed aged 18 at the Federal Correctional Centre Ilorin for drugging and rapping a teenage girl.

The suspects were being held without a bail after being charged with rape and criminal conspiracy in violation of sections 97 and 283 of the penal code.

The First information report (FIR) disclosed that the victim Saka Latifat while she was on her way to visit her friend, Saidat, a tricycle driver later identified as Oluyemi stopped her to enter into his tricycle but she declined.

While Oluyemi was trying to force the victim to enter the tricycle, other defendants, David and Waheed came around to join him to force Latifat into the tricycle and zoomed off thereafter.

It was gathered that the defendants later forced the victim to take some tablets which made her sleep off after which she woke up experiencing some pain in her private part and stomach ache.

Police investigation revealed that the victim, Latifat could not ascertain who among them had sexual intercourse with her due to her state of unconsciousness.

However, medical report obtained from Police training school clinic Ilorin revealed clinical evidence of sexual abuse but vaginal coitus could not be ascertained.

The trial judge, Magistrate Adam Mohammed, adjourned the matter till October 18,2022 for further mention.
