Gunmen have been reportedly kidnapped some members of a family as gunmen attacked a community in Abuja on Wednesday morning.

The incident reportedly occurred in Ushafa, a community in the Bwari Area Council.

It was reported that one person was killed in the early morning attack.

A member of the community confirmed to press that the gunmen stormed the area in the wee hour of the day shooting sporadically.

The resident who revealed his name as James Olachi disclosed to journalists that the incident happened behind the LGEA Primary School Ushafa, close to the popular Going-Park.

James told reporters that the assailants operated in the area for over half an hour without interruption from any security agency.

According to him, the deceased, simply known as Adegoke, struggled with the gun-wielding kidnappers before he was overpowered and gunned down.

It was learnt that the assailants whisked away the wife and a cousin of the deceased to an unknown destination.

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) police command is, however, yet to confirm the incident as of reporting time.
