Suspected militants who are loyal to a group called Biafra Nations League, BNL, have reportedly killed two escorts of an oil vessel near Cameroonian waters.
”They attempted to set the vessel ablaze”, another source revealed.
Eyewitness reports indicate that the incident took place at around 4 am in the Cameroonian-controlled Idabato district of the Bakassi Peninsula.
The militants, according to witnesses, also targeted a vessel that was stationary and whose provenance was unknown.
In a statement, the leader of BnL, Princewill Richards has declared a stop to vessels taking oil in the eastern end of the Gulf of Guinea.
He warned that the oil vessels are endangering their lives.
