Ahead of the 2023 General Elections, the Vice-Chancellor of University of Benin, Prof. Lilian Salami, has directed the closure of the institution for academic activities.
This was revealed by the institution’s Registrar, Mr Ademola Bobola, who announced this in a notice obtained by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday in Benin.
Bobola said that the university would close from Feb. 22 to March 14, in compliance with the Federal Government’s directive through National Universities Commission.
The registrar, who said that normal academic activities would resume on March 15, also directed all the students resident on campus to vacate their hostels latest 12 noon on Feb. 22.
