Ahead Of the forthcoming general elections, the Osun State Chapter of Coalition of Youth’s Voice Movement, CYVM has paid a courtesy visit to the state’s new commissioner of Police Peter Abayomi.
President of the movement Oluwaseun Adebisi, enjoined the new Commissioner of Police to charges his men to efficiently maintain peace before, during and after the elections.
The Commissioner of Police, Peter Abayomi, while welcoming the CYVM quoted In a statement signed by the movement’s Secretary, Hassan Owolabi, said,”The CP Peter Abayomi in his speech, he welcome the leader of the movement warmly and appreciate them for been the advocate of the peace and youths ambassador.
“He said he was sent on an assignment for a credible environment before during and after election, but the police force can not do it alone they need the support of reasonable and right thinking youth’s to carry out the assignment successfully, the country belongs to all of us and the future of the country belongs to the youth’s, the youth’s must position themselves to be active, relevant and participate in leadership positions.
“He imploy and appeal to the youth’s to reach out to fellow youth’s and liberate them across the nooks and crannies in the state to maintain peace, he makes references to the June 12th issues that it is where we have peace that we can have a daily activities and running our business , he huge the youth’s that whenever they see something they should say something because prevention is better than cure.”
“DCP Agene buttress the points of the CP that youth’s must be ambassador and lead by example, he warn the youth’s against destroying government property, attacking police and burning their vehicles during crisis, he encourage the youth’s to claim the leadership.”
