The Speaker, Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Timothy Owoeye has congratulated the President-elect Asiwaju Bola Tinubu on his victory at the February 25th Presidential election.
The Speaker asserted that Tinubu’s victory will benefit Nigerians in their enterprises and careers because the President-elect has promised that his administration will have a human face.
He opined that Nigerians would enjoy an affluent existence because the incoming president will surround himself with individuals who will help the country’s economy grow and produce a higher GDP.
Owoeye in a statement by his Media Aide, Kunle Alabi described the victory as well deserved considering that the time is now for a better and prosperous Nigeria to be birthed.
The Speaker asserted that the majority of voters had made the right choice by choosing the candidate who would give Nigeria renewed hope for a better future.
It is not the best time for the country, he said, and the President-elect should already be considering how to turn the country around before or during his first hundred days in office. Instead, he urged Tinubu to concentrate on uniting the country and jointly guide Nigeria through a peaceful transition.
Owoeye however called on people to be peaceful and patriotic, adding that “in every contest, there will be a winner, it should be a no Victor, no vanquish situation, the stability of the country must be paramount in the mindset of Nigerians irrespective of political leanings.
“I am not in doubt that the President-elect will perform excellently bearing in mind that he is a thoroughbred politician who understands what the people need. He knows the grassroot and identifies with the masses. Tinubu understands what the people want and I can assure you that it will not take him long to settle down to work.
“I use this opportunity to also congratulate the people of my home state, Osun, we are in for a better country with the emergence of a thorough bred politician who understands how to make the country work again, he envisaged the good work of Asiwaju will definitely rob on Osun for good”. The Speaker emphasised.
