The former governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, has left both the Peoples Democratic Party and partisan politics.
The PDP lost the presidential election to the All Progressives Congress, APC, just a day before to this.
As a guest on ARISE TV, Fayose made his resignation known.
He further disclosed that Atiku Abubakar, the PDP’s presidential nominee, turned down the promise of a single term in office in exchange for the backing of the G5 governors.
Bola Tinubu of the APC defeated Atiku in three of the G5 governors’ races, and Obi of the Labour Party won two.
Announcing his resignation, Fayose said, “From today, I stay off PDP.”
