The Osun State Government has announced the inauguration of the State Census Security and Logistics Committee.
Representing the Governor at the inauguration, the Secretary to The Statement Government, Teslim Igbalaye disclosed that the Governor Ademola Adeleke has promised to support the committee with when necessary in order to achieve a successful conduct of the 2024 Census.
According to the a statement released by the press officer to the SSG, Opeyemi Bello, the inauguration took place at the Exco Lounge of the Governor’s Office, on Tuesday.
The Governor commended all of the Service Chiefs for their quick responses to security issues in the State before, during, and after the election and urged them to go further for the State and the entire country.
The State Government would support the Committee fully so that it can carry out its mandate effectively and efficiently, he continued.
Senator Mudashiru Hussain, Federal Commissioner of the National Population Commission (NPC), and State Scribe Alhaji Teslim serve as co-chairmen of the committee, whose chairman is Mr. Governor. Mr. Owoye Martins is designated to serve as the committee’s secretary.
Senator Mudashiru Hussain said in his remarks that the Commission places a high value on the Security and Logistics Committee’s work in its effort to provide Nigeria with a credible, accurate, and acceptable Census data for national planning.
In order to properly activate the stakeholders for the task, he then pledged that the Commission will immediately organize a workshop on the processes and methodology for the Census.
