The Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence, Saad Abubakar III, has declared tomorrow, Thursday March 23rd, as the 1st of Ramadan 1444AH.
The Sultan made the announcement while addressing journalists at his palace in Sokoto State, on Wednesday evening.
ADULAWO NEWS monitored the press conference on the Facebook page of the National Moon sighting Committee, where the Sultan affirmed the sighting of the crescent of the new month, across the country.
He urged Muslims to use the period to pray for the peace of the country and successful transition after the conclusion of the 2023 General Elections.
