The governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has presented the staff of Office and instrument of appointment to Oba Olaoye Yinusa Oyelayo Akanbi, the Atolugbu of Ejemu Oke-Oba, and Oba Sawiyu Ayinla Alao, the Oniran of Ilu Iran Oke-Osun,both in Ayedire Local Council Development Area in Osun State.
He urged the Local Council’s citizens to abstain from acts of violence and maintain the tranquility they are now known for.
Speaking during the presentation of the staff of office to the Royal Highnesses, Governor Adeleke disclosed that their appointments as kings in their separate domain went through the due process .
Governor Adeleke urged the Local Council’s citizens to work with their new monachs for the advancement, unification, and peace of their country. Governor Adeleke was represented at the event by Deputy Governor Prince Kolawole Adewusi.
The Governor reaffirmed his commitment to uphold his electioneering campaign pledges, saying he would wisely use the State’s limited resources to distribute democracy’s benefits throughout the entirety of the State.
He said that in his first hundred (100) days in office, he had done a remarkable job of bringing socioeconomic comforts to the people at the grassroots level and to traditional institutions, making life worth living and promised to restore the State’s lost luster.
While pleading for the support of the populace, he urged citizens to repay the goodwill shown by the government by regularly paying their taxes and other levies in order to provide the government the ability to do more.
Addressing at the event, Oba Abdul Rafiu Oyekanmi Mosobalaje 11, the monarch of Oluponna, thanked the Governor for the calm that pervaded the polls last Saturday in the State and for the success that resulted.
The Royal Father also praised the Governor for his exceptional accomplishments in his first 100 days in office, claiming that this had never happened in the State’s history.
The newly crowned monachs expressed gratitude to the Governor in their individual speeches for giving them the chance to serve the citizens of their communities.
