On Wednesday, Femi Fani-Kayode, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), said that the Department of State Services (DSS) had confirmed his earlier concerns about a scheme by various opposition groups to set up an interim national government.
The former minister of aviation made this statement in a tweet in response to a security notice from the secret police about plans by some lawmakers to sabotage the nation’s democracy by choosing an interim administration.
Fani-Kayode asserted that he was the first to sound the alarm and bemoaned the insults and abuse he had to endured for doing so.
He wrote: “I was the first to expose the conspiracy to establish an ING in our country & truncate our democracy. I received all manner of insults and harassment for this.
“Today @officialdssng have confirmed the conspiracy & I commend them. I have been vindicated. More on this tomorrow.”
