Easter Celebration: NSCDC Deploys 1,575 Personnel, Parades 8 Suspects Over Electricity Theft

As part of it measures to enhance adequate security, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC, in Osun State, has deployed not less than 1,575 operatives for the Easter celebration.

The commission further revealed that its has deployed personnels to strategic location which includes major roads across the state, patrol teams and surveillance squads will cover critical national assets, worship centres, recreation centres, market places, motor parks, shopping malls for adequate security of lives and property.

The Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) OSUN State Command, CC Agboola Sunday made this revelation in a statement signed by the commission’s spokesperson, Adeleke Kehinde, also enjoins members of the public to be Security conscious and report any strange movement in their environment to security agencies.

Recall that ADULAWO reports that the command paraded nine (9) suspects last week over.

Agboola said, “another eight(8) suspects arrested in a sting operation with the officials of Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company(IBDEC) on Wednesday 5th April,2023 at various locations in Osogbo, the state capital over electricity theft.

“The suspects were arrested at Ogo-Oluwa/Alekuwodo axis in Osogbo, based on credible information of engaging in bypassing electricity supply to their residents to evade necessary payment.

“The command is ready to curb activities of vandals, economic saboteurs in the state, saying that, their action amounts to attempt suicide and revenue diversion, he reiterated that, there is zero tolerance for crime under my watch.”

He promised readiness of men and officers of the command to synergize with Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBDEC) in curbing the state of those who vandalise critical national infrastructure, charging the public to abstain from illegal activity.
