The Sudanese Armed Forces and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces have agreed to implement a nationwide ceasefire starting at midnight.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said in a statement on Monday.
The US urged both sides to immediately and fully uphold the ceasefire in Sudan, Mr Blinken added.
