_…sends state delegate to visit scene…_

Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke has set machinery in motion to quickly resettle victims who were rendered homeless as a result of a heavy rainstorm which fell a big tree into a building beside it.

The incident which occurred last Saturday at number 4 Oluobinu Street in Oluobinu compound, Ede left the occupants homeless and with no property to lay claim to as it destroyed every of their belonging.

The Governor raised a combined delegation of the Ministry of Works and Transport led by the Coodinating Director, Engr. Olusola Ajao as well as the Osun State Emergency Management Agency(OSEMA) led by its General Manager, Mr Amos Adejinle.

The state delegate which also included the Director of Highways at the Ministry of Works, Engr. Basiru Bello visited the scene to ascertain the level of destruction and to ensure that no life was lost.

Occupants of the about 12 rooms building located at Oluobinu compound in Ede while giving their experience of the incident said they were just lucky that it happened during the day, otherwise lives would have been lost.

They thanked the State government led by Senator Ademola Adeleke for showing empathy on their situation through the visit of a State delegation to the scene to ascertain the level of destruction.

About 90 years old Alhaji Saka Oluobinu who is the family head while speaking with newsmen thanked God that the incident claimed no life, saying that it has however left them homeless with no property to lay claim to.

Another occupant of the building, Mrs Ojerinde Oluranti thanked the Ademola Adeleke led administration for quickly coming to their aid as they no longer have a place to lay their heads.

Speaking on behalf of the State government, the General Manager, Osun State Emergency Management Agency(OSEMA), Mr Amos Adejinle said the agency will swing into action immediately to make things okay for the victims.

Also speaking, the Coordinating Director, Ministry of Works and Transport, Engr. Olusola Ajao said Governor Ademola Adeleke will leave no stone unturned to ensure that the victims are quickly resettled.

In his own reaction, the Director of Highways at the Ministry of Works and Transport, Engr. Basiru Bello assured the victims that government is swinging into action immediately to make life comfortable for them.
