Insight Multi-Links Media, through its management, has reiterated its position regarding the purchase of a N47.8 million vehicle by the Federal Polytechnic, Ede, located in Osun State.

The media outlet stands by its report, which revealed that the Chairman of the institution’s council, Mr. Emmanuel Jakada, acquired the vehicle for his private use.
This was revealed in a press statement signed by Jare Tiamiyu, the Editor-in-chief of the media outlet.

According to Jare, he said despite attempts to gather more information, the Public Relations Officer of the Polytechnic, Sola Lawal, refused to engage with Insight Multi-Links Media. When specifically asked about the purchase of the vehicle by the media outlet’s reporter, Lawal failed to provide a clear response.

Lawal claimed that the vehicle in question was a utility vehicle intended for the office of the Chairman. However, Insight Multi-Links Media raises valid concerns about the whereabouts of the vehicle between Monday and Thursday (June 19 to June 22) when Mr. Jakada was present on the campus for a Council meeting. The media outlet questions when the Prado V6 Jeep was last seen on the campus.

In relation to the price of the vehicle, documents in the possession of Insight Multi-Links Media reveal that the contract for the vehicle’s purchase was awarded on December 21, 2021, to Umarana Motors Limited. The contract was valued at N47,859,000.00, and payment was made to the company on January 14, 2022. The media outlet challenges the Polytechnic’s management and their spokesperson, Sola Lawal, to provide the actual figures, asserting that transparency would be more honorable than attempting to manipulate words.

Lastly, Insight Multi-Links Media maintains its stance that the vehicle has been utilized for private purposes ever since it was taken away from the Polytechnic campus.

However, to their esteemed readers, Insight Multi-Links Media assures its commitment to upholding the principles of journalism and pledges to continue exposing instances of fraud within the system.
