The Osun State Polytechnic Iree Alumni Association (OSPAA) has extended warm congratulations to Muslims worldwide on the joyous occasion of the Eid-el-Kabeer festival.
In a press release issued by the National Publicity Secretary of the Alumni Association, Adekunle Sikiru (Abacus), the President of the Association, Alh Yakub Akeem Adebayo, encouraged members of the association to acknowledge God as the foundation of their lives and worship Him with utmost dedication and sincerity.
The celebration of Eid-ul-Adha holds great significance as it commemorates the devotion of Prophet Ibrahim to Allah SWT and his unwavering willingness to sacrifice his beloved son, Ismail. As the moment of sacrifice approached, Allah SWT replaced Ismail with a ram, allowing it to be sacrificed instead. This divine command served as a test of Prophet Ibrahim’s loyalty and unwavering commitment to obey the command of his Lord without hesitation.
In his message, the Alumni President called upon Muslims around the world to remain steadfast in their faith and utilize the period of the Eid-el-Kabeer festival to engage in fervent prayers. He also emphasized the importance of promoting the teachings of Islam by establishing a close relationship with Allah, seeking forgiveness, and seeking divine guidance in all aspects of life.
The association highlighted that Eid-el-Kabeer is not merely a time for celebration, but it is also a moment for all individuals to display love, live in peace and harmony, exchange gifts, and extend support to the less privileged members of society.
Furthermore, the alumni reaffirmed their commitment to creating and promoting welfare programs for their members globally. They urged members to collaborate with the Alumni Association in assisting the less privileged within the country.
