Kolapo Alimi has expressed his gratitude to Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State for nominating him as a commissioner in the state. The announcement was made on Friday when the governor sent Alimi’s name and those of other nominees to the Osun State House of Assembly for approval.
In a statement on Saturday, Alimi thanked Governor Adeleke for his visionary leadership, describing him as a passionate and forgiving leader. Despite having worked against the governor’s interest during the 2018 Osun State Governorship Election, Alimi was welcomed into the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) by Governor Adeleke, who appointed him as the Deputy Director General of his campaign organization at that time.
The statement reads, “My first and foremost appreciation goes to the Almighty Allah, the most gracious and the most merciful for His protection and abundant blessings over me always.
“Having done this, my appreciation also goes to our amiable Governor of Osun State, Senator Nurudeen Jackson Ademola Adeleke. Governor Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke is indeed, a man of destiny, a passionate and a visionary leader.
“Mr Governor, Your Excellency is a great man with a great mind, a man with forgiving mind, even though he knew quite well that I Kolapo Alimi worked powerfully against his interest during the 2018 Osun State Governorship Election, he welcomed me and my supporters to the PDP with open hands and appointed me the Deputy Director General of his campaign organization. Today again, he has nominated me as one of his cabinet members. I’m grateful to you sir.
