The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has confirmed the death of a corps member at the orientation camp in Ede, Osun State.
ADULAWONEWS reported that the corps member identified as Bright who has been battling with an undisclosed illness before coming to the NYSC Camp died in his sleep a few days ago.
A source at the camp told newsmen that they found drugs in the deceased’s hand while rushing him to the hospital.
Mrs Funmi Okundaye, the state NYSC PRO confirmed the incident but refrained from giving further details about the circumstances surrounding his death.
“What you read is that a corps member passed on in his sleep? That was exactly what happened; there is no other thing to add. Nothing to add or remove from
it,” Okundaye said.
The 2023 batch ‘B’ stream 1 orientation course commenced on July 12 across the country and is scheduled to end on August 1.
