Following the Kidnapped of the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of Baptist Medical Center (BMC), Okeho, Dr. David Lawal, and Kafilat a staff of the hospital, the Oyo State House of Assembly has urged the state police command and other security agencies to secure their release.

ADULAWONEWS report that Lawal and his staff were abducted by gunmen at the premises of the hospital in Okeho, Kajola Local Government Area, on Sunday night.

The assembly gave the charge after the lawmaker representing Kajola State Constituency, Hon. Musibau Azeez, tabled the matter at Tuesday’s plenary.

Azeez decried the rate of insecurity, especially kidnapping in recent times in the state, adding that insecurity has become a major concern that requires urgent attention.

According to him, “The rate of insecurity, especially kidnapping in recent times in Oyo State is alarming. It has become a matter of major concern that requires urgent attention.

“Despite the efforts of the administration of His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde in providing necessary logistics and support for security agencies to work with in making sure that crime drastically reduced in Oyo State, It is quite unfortunate and disturbing that some wicked elements are bent on destabilising the peace and tranquility being enjoyed and also rubbish the efforts put in place by the government from time to time,”

After contributions from members, the assembly called on Commissioner of Police in and other security agencies to swing into action and secure the release of Lawal and the young lady, identified as Kafilat.
