Oyo Govt Begins Phase One Rehabilitation of Roads

The Oyo State Government has begun the first rehabilitation phase for roads that are currently in poor condition.

Recall Governor ‘Seyi Makinde, last week directed the Oyo State Road Maintenance Agency (OYSROMA) to carry out this essential process in multiple phases, with the aim of eliminating all potholes across various zones in the state.

Chairman of OYSROMA, Hon. Busoye Ogunlade, has confirmed that the measurement process for these roads has already begun.

Teams of engineers and agency staff are currently on-site to initiate the Bill of Engineering Measurement and Evaluation (BEME) procedure.

Ogunlade has also appealed to the residents of Oyo State to refrain from dumping refuse in drainage systems, as this contributes significantly to the deterioration of certain roads. He emphasizes that a collaborative effort from all citizens is necessary to ensure that Oyo State regains its position as the Pacesetter state.

The first phase of road rehabilitation will immediately begin on several roads, including Mokola – Sabo road, Mokola – Uncle Joe – Vertinary – Sango, and Sango – Eleyele.

Other roads such as Bodija Ojurin – Iyana Olopa – Iyana Ashi junction and Elewure junction to Housing – Awolowo junction with spur Osuntokun junction will also undergo rehabilitation in this phase.

In addition, roads like Labo – Muslim – Olomi – Eleta – Academy road and Amuloko junction – Fakayode will be included in the first phase of rehabilitation.

The government urges all residents to look forward to the positive transformation of these roads and work together to enhance the infrastructure of Oyo State.
