How Gunmen Abduct School Pupils, Teachers In Ekiti

Gunmen have reportedly abducted an unspecified number of schoolchildren in Emure Local Government of Ekiti State.

According to a post by Ekititrends on its X handle on Tuesday, January 30, the incident involved students from Apostolic Faith School who were allegedly kidnapped on Monday, while travelling from Emure Ekiti to Eporo Ekiti on their school bus.

The number of students in the kidnappers’ den is yet unknown and the police are yet to confirm the incident.

The incident followed the killing of two traditional rulers in the state; the Onimojo of Imojo Ekiti, Oba Olatunde Samuel Olusola, and the Elesun of Esun Ekiti, Oba David Babatunde Ogunsola who were killed in an ambush by armed men while returning from a meeting.

Ekiti state governor, Biodun Oyebanji, who condemned the dastardly act, ordered security operatives in the state to fish out the killers of the two traditional rulers and assured the people of the state that the government would spare nothing to get to the root of the matter.
