Economic Hardship: Ospoly Alumni President Rolls Out Scholarship To Students, Donates Cash To Widow

Following the economy crisis in the country, the National President of Osun state Polytechnic Iree Alumni Association (OSPAA) Alh Yakub Akeem Adebayo has awarded polytechnic Education scholarship to students of various departments of the polytechnic and a cash gift of One hundred and fifty thousand naira(#150,000) to the wife of the late Alumni Auditor, Mr Ige Benjamin.

Speaking at the presentation of the scholarship awards to the five students of Osun State Polytechnic Iree, the Alumni President revealed that the scholarship is parts of campaign promises of the current administration to promote quality education to the less privileged students, adding that the association has been assisting members in all areas of their needs.

Speaking on several laudable achievements recorded in the last one year of the administration, Alh Yakub Akeem Adebayo said, the challenges confronting Alumni members while processing their transcript and certificate have been totally resolved with the current memorandum of understanding and mutual relationship existing between the management and the Alumni body.

According to him, ” Apart from various physical developmental landmarks and administrative achievements, the association which has recently transformed the face of the Alumni Secretariat and renovation of all offices, the association will soon erect Alumni Relaxation Court in the campus to accommodate Alumni members while processing their certificates and transcripts.”

Those who benefitted from Alh Yakub Akeem Adebayo’s scholarship awards include Mariam Omokanye Damilola from Department of Science and Laboratory Technology (SLT), Ige Olawale of Mass Communication Department, Oluwafemi and the wife of the late OSPAA auditor, Mrs Tina Ige was also given one hundred and Fifty Thousand naira by Ospoly Alumni President.

However, he congratulated Mr Kehinde Alabi over his confirmation as the substantive rector of the institution.
