On the occasion of this year’s Eid-Il-Fitr, a former lawmaker, Hon. Gbenga Ogunkanmi has urged Muslims to extend the lessons of the Holy Month to their daily activities after Ramadan.

He urged them to seek the face of God and keep faith in His power to do all things.

Ogunkanmi, who represented Ayedire State Constituency in the Osun State House of Assembly (2019-2023), in a congratulatory message to Muslims, admonished them not to lose hope, as the mercy of Allah is full of abundance.

He said, “Muslims must pray and work for peace to reign as this is a major way in achieving a prosperous Nigeria.

”I ask you to continue to imbibe the spirit of peaceful co-existence, unity, and love for one another, which are the ideals and principles on which our dear state is founded.

“The commendable acts of residents in often rallying round each other in challenging moments, irrespective of religious or ethnic differences is an indication that the dreams of our founding fathers in creating Osun as a center of unity has taken deep roots and is flourishing.

“Let us all preach love and oneness wherever we find ourselves. We can not witness meaningful development without love, tolerance, and lending help for everyone wherever we are, “he stated.

He, however, expressed optimism that with prayers and the continued support of the people, the country will surmount those challenges and take its pride of place in the comity of nations.

”It is yet another time of the year that Muslims across the world celebrate after a dutiful month of relentless service to Allah. On the occasion of Eid, I urge everyone, especially all of us, who just completed the month long fast to spread the tentacles of love and all good tidings beyond the holy month.

“In all we do after Ramadan, let us remember to spread love, giving to the needy and less privileged, commitment to our religious and social duties, among others. I pray that Allah, in his infinite mercies, will continue to bless, uphold, and strengthen us.”
