Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, will launch the dualization of the Ilesa-Akure Expressway Junction-Brewery-Ereja/Palace Square, Ilesa, and the construction of the Lagere Junction Flyover, Ile Ife, on Tuesday, April 30, 2024. This milestone event will precede the second edition of IPADE Imole, a citizen engagement session with the Governor, aimed at fostering inclusive development and grassroots participation in the state’s governance.
The dualization project, spanning 10 kilometers, will transform the Ilesa-Akure Expressway into a modern, high-capacity highway, enhancing connectivity and economic growth in the region. The Lagere Junction Flyover, meanwhile, will alleviate traffic congestion and improve road safety in Ile Ife.
The Commissioner for Special Duties and Regional Integration, Dr. B.T. Salam, made the announcement earlier today, assuring the people of Ijesaland and Ile Ife that the infrastructure plan of the current administration under Governor Adeleke is all-inclusive and will benefit every region in the state.
“The dualization of the Ilesa-Akure Expressway Junction-Brewery-Ereja/Palace Square and the construction of the Lagere Junction Flyover mark significant milestones in our infrastructure development plan,” Dr. Salam said. “We are confident that we will implement all the projects as planned across all zones in the state, driving economic growth, job creation, and improved quality of life for our citizens.”
Preparations are in full swing for the successful hosting of the second edition of IPADE Imole, which will take place at the Oba Adekunle Aromolaran Civic Centre, Ilesa, on Tuesday, April 30, 2024. Relevant stakeholders, including community leaders, traditional rulers, and citizens of the state, are invited to join the Governor and members of the State Executive Council for this important event.
During the session, Governor Adeleke will engage with citizens, listen to their concerns, and provide updates on the administration’s progress in key sectors, including infrastructure, education, healthcare, and economic development. The event will also feature presentations, panel discussions, and a town hall meeting, ensuring a participatory and inclusive government.
