The death of Alhaja Sinatu Awero Lawal, the mother of the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Osun State, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, has been described as a huge loss to the progressive family in the state.

The Executive Director, Marine and Operations, Nigeria Ports Authority, Engr. Olalekan Badmus stated this in a condolence message to Sooko Lawal on Sunday.

Alhaja Sinatu Awero Lawal died in the early hours of Sunday at the age of 90.

Badmus, who noted how challenging the loss of a soul is, said that the late matriarch of the Lawal family of Ile Ife lived a fulfilled life and will be deeply missed by her loved ones.

He urged the people to reflect on the life of the departed and work assiduously to leave a worthy legacy behind when they return to their maker.

His words: “Dear Chairman, I sympathise with you at this trying time. I know it’s not in any way easy to lose family members, much less one’s mom. I know how challenging this could be. My thoughts are with you during this difficult moment.

“In this moment of grief, on behalf of myself and my political followers, I extend our heartfelt sympathies to the Lawal’s family and other well-wishers. It is very obvious that Mama lived a good life, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

“As we mourn the demise of Alhaja Sinatu Awero Lawal, it is instructive for us to reflect on her contributions and impacts while she was here with us. Such memory will forever linger. Please accept my heartfelt condolences,” Engr. Badmus stressed further.
