The Timi of Ede, Oba Munirudeen Adesola Lawal Laminisa I, has urged politicians to always propagate the politics of inclusiveness.

This, according to the frontline traditional ruler involves equitable distribution of resources to the people as well delivering good governance, which is the hallmark of progressive politics.

Oba Adesola Lawal stated this while receiving in company of the Timi-in-Council, the state leadership of the Omoluabi Progressives in his palace on Friday, as part of its tour of Ede Federal Constituency.

The monarch lauded the contributions of the caucus patron, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, to the growth and development of Osun, saying the group represents the real progressives in the state,

He also called on them to rally all lost souls into the progressive fold, offering his royal blessings to the success of the caucus activities.

Responding, the Chairman, Omoluabi Progressives, Alhaji Azeez Adesiji thanked the monarch and his chiefs for the warm reception. He informed the traditional ruler that the group is deeply rooted in the ideology of progressive politicians including the late sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Chief Bola Ige, among others.

Addressing the stakeholders of the caucus at the Ede town hall, Adesiji pointed out that members must work hand-in-hand to aid its bid to return to power.

Stressing that the structure of the caucus is purely progressive, the former local government chairman warned that it is yet time for any member of the Omoluabi Progressives to contest election, hence, the need to focus on mobilisation and rallying of progressive politicians to its fold.

He commended the efforts of the stakeholders in Ede federal constituency, noting that no stone must be unturned in realising the group’s vision.

The Chairman said, “We must be united and have a common front. The motive of bringing members together is to win and return to the government of Osun in 2026. We must not allow sentiments or ambition to ruin the success we have achieved in the last 9 months.

“We are politicians of ideology. The real progressive ideology. Ours is not to strip the people off their commonwealth but to emancipate and raise social awareness on pragmatic and responsible leadership. That exactly is our goal and major driver. We should all work in this direction.
“We have seen so far that the people have accepted Omoluabi. Our detractors are daily wowed by how fast and rapid we are growing. Do not let us relent in bringing more people to the fold. We are open and transparent.

“In no distant time, your membership cards and register will be available at the local government level. Feel free to reach out to the state exco anytime you have things to tell us. We are accessible and we will address your complaints. Be assured of our support to you. By the grace of God, we will reach the promised land,” the former council boss noted.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Ede federal constituency coordinator of Omoluabi Progressives, Hon. Nurein Adebisi said the leaders of the constituency have in the last few months worked tirelessly to bring people in the fold.

He assured that by the next visit of the state leadership, bigwigs from all political firmaments in the state, will have joined the caucus.

Members of the caucus sang solidarity song in honour of the visiting team.
